What “Distribution” means at Bachmann in the DCS/PDU context

Distribution, for us, is neither project sales nor traditional key account management.

In the DCS/PDU environment, it is about building and developing internationally operating distribution partners. The goal is to position our products in the market in a way that they can be understood, compared, and purchased, both through resellers and online.

In concrete terms, this means:

  • Listing our DCS and PDU products with international distributors - leveraging an existing global network of distributors and partners
  • Developing clear pricing and commercial offer structures for the channel
  • Building long-term, personal relationships based on mutual respect and trust
  • Ensuring close alignment between Sales, IT, Product Management, and Distribution

You make sure that Bachmann not only stands out technologically in the global DCS distribution environment, but also succeeds commercially in the market.

Your responsibilities and why this role is true pioneer work

You combine market development with hands-on execution. You define a distribution and go-to-market strategy for the DCS/PDU business and bring it to life step by step, from building an international distribution network to structuring pricing, portfolio, and commercial offer logic.

This is not a pure greenfield role. In Germany, we are already well positioned within the distribution landscape. The next step is significantly more demanding: successfully scaling into international markets.

What we need for this is not theoretical concepts, but experience, market understanding, and, most importantly, a strong network that can be activated immediately.

In the DCS/PDU area, there is currently no established playbook, no mature global structure, and no fully developed processes. What does exist is a strong product portfolio with a high degree of customization and a clear decision to now build this business systematically.

You will operate in a market with intense competition and strong price pressure. Convincing stakeholders, dealing with rejection, and navigating long decision cycles are part of the reality.

At the same time, this is exactly where the opportunity lies: to build a business area from the ground up, with backing, visibility, and real impact.

This role is designed for people who are motivated by building something new, not by maintaining existing structures.

What you bring

You are a highly experienced sales professional with a background in international distribution or channel business, ideally with exposure to DCS, IT infrastructure, or PDU-related products. Your background is commercial, you are strong in negotiations, and you think entrepreneurially.

What matters to us:

  • A strong, international network within the distribution or channel environment, ideally in the DCS, IT, or infrastructure context, that you can actively leverage
  • Fluency in German (C1) and solid English skills (B1), both in negotiation contexts
  • A strong sense of ownership, resilience, and a genuine drive to build something new
  • Willingness to travel, especially in the early phase

Technical understanding is helpful but what really matters is your sales expertise and market understanding.
